Smart Boards

Smart Boards are hands down a must for any modern library, especially an academic one.  These somewhat tricky yet effective devices are being used in most elementary, middle, and high schools as well. Because students are familiar with being taught on smart boards at these schools, they are going to be expecting the same in academic centers and libraries.  They are not going to want to feel as if they just took a step backwards.  I still remember how on my first day of substitute teaching (3rd grade) a student asked me if we were going to use the smart board.  Needless to say, I felt foolish in telling him that I did not know how to operate it.  All the more reason to take some lessons.
