Evaluations

For the evaluation of blogs exercise, I decided to the top 2 Harry Potter Blogs in the world, DanRadcliffe blog and Darkmark blog.  The evaluations are as follows:

DanRadcliffe blog:

Credibility: Very credible.  The site SCREAMS harry potter star Daniel Radcliffe.
Accuracy: Very accurate.  The information is all up to date.
Reasonableness: Very reasonable.  The information is fair/objective/moderate/consistant
Support:  Supported very well  The site makes good use of links and images.

Intended users:  Radcliffe and/or Potter fans
Aim aligned to needs of users?:  Yes, very much so.  Fans will have their fair share of information.  The extent of this aim far exceeded my expectations.

FORMAT
Appropriate?:  Yes
Layout:  Very nicely
Organiztion:  Top notch
Structure as a whole?:  Great

APPEARANCE
Layout:  Font, colors, amountand location of white space, contents list, search facilities, and links are all working well in creating and providing a great appearance.
Attractivness:  It loks like a scene from Harry Potter, so YES, it is attractive.
NAVIGATION
Easy to navigate:  Yes
Navigation tools:  Yes
Consistent:  Yes
Information search:  Easy
Site Map:  Yes
User searchabilty:  Very good and very easy

LINKS:  Up-to-date and easily noticable.

USER NEEDS:  Language is appropriate and suitable but does not meet the needs of those who are vision/sound impared.

Evaluation results:  I was very impressed with this site and have now become a follower.  The site seems to be ahead of the rest when it comes to information on Mr. Radliffe.  I especialy like how easy the site is to navigate and how accurate the information is.

Darkmark blog:


Credibility: Credible. 
Accuracy: Very accurate. The information is all up to date.
Reasonableness: Reasonable. The information is fair/objective/moderate/consistant
Support: Supported very well The site makes good use of links and images.

EVALUATION RESULTS:  A good blog, but not great.  I hate to compare it to DanRadcliffe blog but I am going to anyway.  The DanRadcliffe blog exceeds this blog in just about every catagory.  Again, I am not saying that this blog is bad.  I just do not think it should be considered number 2 in the world.
